That's a pretty pathetic attempt at sarcasm.
How many people capable of earning only NMW (and who have to make themselves available for work as a condition of receiving benefit) have mortgages of any size?
In the specific case of mortgages, it is true that the in-work buttistance low-earning mortgage payer might get something approaching full abatement of council tax). But then, since you haven't got any of the other "illustrative" figures right either, where does that get us? How many people have an unabated £1500 a year council tax to pay out of £160 a week?
But tell us more about how everyone on benefit who has a mortgage has their payments covered by insurance. Come to that, tell us about this wonderful scheme whereby they get their credit card debts covered by insurance. According to the picture you paint, there need never be a forced sale or a court case for recovery of debt (well, at least, not debt caused by unemployment). And how can anyone more readily pay their uninsured debts (the sort that most people on this planet have) out of £55pw more easily than out of £160pw?
