driving ban question

First of all thanks for any positive replies, I was expecting to get the usual 'stick to the speed limit' replies. Let me just tell you that I drive up to 1800 miles a week and although I do try to keep to the speed limit in built up areas, I am sorry that I am human and sometimes stray slightly over the limit on empty 4 lane motorways. I'm such a danger to society, obviously I must have my life ruined...

I am not blind and can see cameras, but when people hide in bushes and behind signs with lasers its a bit difficult to notice. Next time I will keep my eyes on bridges and at the side of the road , of course this may mean that I crash into someone in front of me at 70mph and cause them injury or kill them. Where as if I was doing 90mph on a motorway and concentrating on the road conditions, adjusting my speed to suit them as needed, I would be perfectly ok. Speed does not directly kill as they want you to believe - improper driving does, whether this is at speed or not.

Here's how I do it. Fill up the tank until it clicks the pump off. Reset your trip recorder. Drive for X number of miles, enough to give a decent overall range...

In fact as much as I hate speed cameras, I am in favour of the average speed ones (SPECS) where used properly, at least they give you a chance to redeem yourself and slow down safely. I object to scum sitting in vans to ruin hard working people like myself.

If I burgle repeatedly I will likely get a telling off everytime. However if I happen to stray over a stupid speed limit then I have the potential to have everything I have worked for ruined - thats the problem with the law in this country.

Whilst driving today I forced myself to concentrate beyond my normal limits and stick dead on the limit for a 200 mile drive - the result? All I got was abuse from lorry drivers in roadworks because I was slowing their lorry down that takes ages to reach a decent speed, and flashing headlights from motorists telling me to speed up or get out of the way. I felt like I was 75 years old trundling along in some ancient car..

Endless options. 1. Fill up with a friend. 2. Put the "spare" in a container and hold a petrol auction at the back of the queue. 3. Wait...
