I never made an buttertion about republicans pbutting balanced budgets. You are deeply confused and even more deeply disturbed. You should seek help. Maybe take a course in reading from...

That has as much to do with what I wrote as an alien base on the dark side of the moon.

Which was spent.

Bingo. That's what I meant by "surplus gone"

Won't be enough.

Democrats already tell us seniors on social security are living in poverty and the cost of living increases aren't enough.

So more people die before they can collect a dime.

Just keep raising taxes. Throw more of my hard earned money into the pyramid scheme. How about I get to be treated like an adult and get to save my money on my own?

Pennies on the dollar at best by the time I reach retirement age, which will probably be 80 for me.

I did before parker. It's not worth it with you. See the last time this came up.

Again, you seem to think because I don't agree with you that makes me a republican. Your logic is flawed. I am for a property interest in our social security money. That makes that statement we get on our birthday actuall be what it appears to be, a property interest in the money. I don't care if it's a democrat or republican plan.

Of the two concepts proposed, I'll take the one with the property interest.

You brought this up. As far I am concerned most of this is just drama for our consumption. And last I heard there was no such rule. If I were elected as a member of oh the martian party, I could sponsor legislation even though there were no other martian party members in congress. Last I heard that was the way it worked.

Perhaps you would like to support your mindless buttertions with some facts. But since they are mindless, it is clear that you can't. This is just one of the many strategies that...

Exactly. SS is a tax at present, no different than any other. It's just masquerading as a retirement 'contribution'. Either stop with the semantics of it being a retirement program contribution or make it one.

You ever have an employee Dr. Parker? Something I am involved with now does. There is X budgeted for our total cost to have him employed. That's what we can afford to pay. How it's divided doesn't really matter to us. It costs us X. Because we are decent people we tried to divide up X in the best way for our empolyee, the way he prefered. But even if we weren't, he still costs X.

The market value of employees is that final number. Employers who didn't pay it in cash if wasn't going to SS tax would have difficulty attracting employees. You seem to think that every job is nothing more than some skilless thing. If your university decided to cut your pay in half this week would you just stay there or find another job?

Then it's settled, you should be for having a property interest in the money taken from you for SS or even being able to save the money yourself. Because it's clear you don't believe that congress and the president at any given time will always act in your best intrests. That a president or set of representives may be elected and then use tax dollars in a way you don't like. Since social security is currently a tax and they may alter or cancel the program at any time and not give us a dime back you should be concerned and want to have a property interest written into law.
