middle lane hoggers cont: Why I sometimes do it

Driving on motorways a lot, but not wishing to join the BMW and Audi boys in permanent lane 3 90 mph mode, I usually toddle along at 75-77 mph.

Them low life traffic wardens
There are two sides to this arguement. On one hand, Britain seems to have a "It's convenient for me to park here, so I will" mentality...

This causes the problem of what lane to use on a moderately busy motorway like the daytime M6-M1.

I generally only use lane 3 to overtake trucks and slower cars in lane 2. Lane 1 is mostly occupied by trucks, sheds or OAPs. I usually then place myself in lane 2 for the major reason of not wishing to be constantly lane changing as the trucks etc in lane 1 are usually about 200-400 yards apart. On the odd occasion I do drop into lane 1 it is guaranteed that I will be trapped behind a truck doing 50 for a long while as lane 2 will be occupied.

I always check behind me to see that I am not holding up anyone in lane 2, and I will move into lane 1 (if possible) to allow people to pbutt, otherwise I will usually remain in lane 2.

middle lane hoggers
I saw a really selfish-stupid middle lane hogger today, on the M2 (3 lane section between Junctions 3 and 4 coastbound). Much snow in the area, and although lanes 1...

I see no problem in that, and on less busy motorways I will, of course, normally use lane 1.
