Not every time , no.
Because in the real world it is all too easy to find yourself slipping into less than perfect habits. With nobody there to remind you every time and no adverse consequences it's possible to be a bit lazy some times (and not just in respect of driving). You don't pbutt a test and know everything , and most people continue to learn and in the main , improve as they gain experience.
Like many people I'm sure I didn't check blind spots as often as I should have done. No harm was done other than the occasional horn from another vehicle , but learning to ride a bike helped remind me of the need for some of these things and made me a better driver. It's much more of an instinctive habit to check what's going on around me now.
Of course I'm sure that you have never done anything of the sort , being the pefect driver who instantly took to heart everything you were ever told and never made an error , deviated from the highway code , or forgot to check a mirror.
Some of us are prepared to admit that we aren't perfect you know. -- Alex
