That's fair enough, but let's have that accountability for real.
I do not understand out of my Republican Party is an economic policy that talkes about accountability while at the same time rewards and incents failure. On one hand, Republicans say, you shouldn't have to buy products made in the USA because they may not be good enough, but on the other hand, you say, the people that make all these decisions about these products need to be protected by the government.
If they are losers and they are so bad that you should not buy their products, then why should they be worthy of federal protection? Why should I care if a CEO gets taxes at 20% or 25%? How about if a CEO's company loses money, the CEO gets taxes at 90% to at least pay back the public for the inconvenience caused by his or her incompetence?
GM has slid from total market domination to near extinction and at enormous social cost to the people of the United States, and yet, the CEOs are not accountable for this? They get to walk away?
That's b.s.
We've gone through 30 years of stacking the goverrnment in favor of our businesses and all we've been getting is 30 years of failures and excuses from what is shaping up to be the most hopelessly incompetent management clbutt in human history.
You want to improve American productivity and American products? I'd say, line up everyone who is a VP or more in and major company and shoot them. Enough is enough already.
I was thinking more along the lines that we free marketing Republican types have asked these people to go fight our f--- up little war. The least we could do is buy one of their cars.
