Nice. Friend of ours had both kids run over crossing the road outside school, driver not speeding, witnesses saw the kids run across road without looking. Got away with three broken legs and some cuts and bruises.
Driver *though not at fault* was completely gutted and shocked by the incident. Brought the kids toys and things and visited to make sure all was alright. Insurance company was involved.
Still, she called the ambulance chasers, sued for compo, strung it out and played it up.

Road users need to take note that the road is a dangerous place and accept the risks in genuine accidents - if the driver was insured, licensed and the vehicle roadworthy, not drunk high stoned asleep, and genuinely just chickened up then he deserves some sympathy too.
Next time it could be one of us driving - I've had my share of dumb moments in carsbut thankfully there's been no one between me and the wall tree field ditch to get hurt. I'm sure that applies to many of us here.
