overtaking on a slip road 5112

thanks for all the replies (the serious polite replies that is!). I perhaps wasnt as clear as I could be with my original post.

To try and clarify, the on entrance to the sliproad appears a single lane, this determined by the lack of road markings sugesting otherwise. at the top a there is a roundabout, around 300 yards before this road markings appear in the centre (with cats eyes in the centre, thus implying line have never been before this point).

Although there is enough room for two cars to squeeze between each other i feel a little unconfortable at people doing this at 70mph, and this would certainly be quite impossible if a truck or bus was on the lane.

With regards to staying in the middle and someone undertaking me, this happened whilst a truck was there, I kept back a little and to the right of the single lane (by way of markings on the road) so I could get a good view of the road ahead. At which point a 4x4 untook me only to have to slam on there brakes as they could not pbutt the truck. This was the entrace slip road to a dual carriageway.

i hope that clears some stuff up a little, particulary the negative posts, as im certainly not trying to troll or drive badly.

This as far as im concerned a a definate no no when driving but it does seem common practice.

Im wondering how other people deal with this, I usually try to keep in the centre of a road so people do not attempt, obviously some will try so I will get to the left, although there is no telling what people will do as one has undertook me on a slip road once !!!!!!

Also a slip road near us at the end of it there appears white lines seperating the road into two, I believe this should mean the two lanes take effect when the lines start but people are not treating it like this.
