like they were saying :
If you're on the motorway and clear of the junction by the time they "come up behind you", then that's a different kettle of fish.
If you can easily avoid inconveniencing them, either by hanging back until they've pbutted or by changing your speed slightly, then it is your responsibility to do so.
There is no "right speed for a particular lane" - each driver sets their own "right speed", based on any number of external and internal factors.
Diesels 5114like they were saying : I moved a diseasel 75 around the workshop yard a couple of times the other day. 50k on it. We'll ignore the fact you could...
That's fine. But if somebody changes lane into the path of another vehicle, forcing them to slow or manouvre to avoid them, that's inconsiderate.
I'd agree with you. However, it's also one of the easiest hazards to avoid. It's why you have mirrors, a neck, side windows, a right foot (which works in both directions) and a brain. As you say - "Where do you draw the line?" in your self-important demanding of priority that isn't yours?
I take it you'd have no objection to somebody meandering up the sliproad at 40 and pulling out in your 50mph path, expecting you to get out of *their* way?
What if the vehicle you're expecting to manouvre has no clear sightline through, and there's somebody preventing them from changing lanes that you can't see?
