I've been quite clear, there is no problem with having licensing and regulation. The problem is making it a privilege. We should have the right to drive and to do so in public requires showing competence and following the vehicle code. However, it should be a right, regulated such that we do not interfere with the rights of others, like many other such rights.
When something is a privilege, all sorts of other things get attached to having it. Driving as a privilege has and is allowing government to make all sorts of requirements that have nothing to do with protecting the rights of other road users. But as a privilege, we just have to suck it up. Just like when a mother tells a kid he has to eat the veggies before going out to play.
For the moment.
So your arguement is we have no rights but what is granted by government. Sad. Very sad. Try reading the consbreastution, the federalist papers, etc.
Sure. But they aren't adding anything to improve competence, they are adding things unrelated to driving. Why does the federal government need my photograph in order to insure a safe driving environment?
No, I didn't write that. You really want to be in my kill file don't you. Either learn how to debate properly or don't do it at all.
Here we go with the labeling and general BS to just distract me.
How many hundreds of times have I posted that I am for strict licensing for driving competence? If you aren't going to read my posts, don't bother replying to them.
Diesel Automobiles 4326Right on the money. Right on the money. We are one. All of the earths countries have one thing in common and that is that we all share the same...
I've posted this hundreds of times.
I damn well am.
How does not supporting MADD's neoprohibitionist agenda make me irresponsible? But given your poor reasoning and reading skills you probably interepet being against MADD as for drunk driving. Not my fault your inteligence and computing power is so limited. I simply question how valid the research can be if next year it's suddenly pointing to .05 BAC instead of .08. Valid scientific research is repeatable. We should have arrived at the proper value 20 years ago, and I think we did. The rest has been an agenda and a desire of groups like MADD to continue. Meanwhile the dangerous drunks always seem to be in excess of .1 BAC.
Diesel Automobiles 4325No, it is due to the Americans who don't bother to demand that US does away with its antedulivan NHTSA...
I have *NEVER* spoken against motor vehicle licensing. I have spoken out against the privilege concept. Figure out the difference.
