believe it or not, i *do* think about that, bill. it seems to me that you're justifying a trucker cutting off another large rig...

i agree... illinois is a particularly egregious state as they have a big split between trucks-RVs and regular autos. i think it's 55-65, respectively. of course me driving an RV makes me especially biased... ;-) but i think from a traffic flow perspective there's a good justification.

not expecting an apology; i probably should do more than what i usually do (lay on my horn as i pbutt the cab letting them know it was not appreciated) and call as you suggest. i hate playing traffic narc but doggone it, it isn't just inconvenient behavior, it's flat out dangerous.

what would you suggest i do differently on my part as far as driving? i'm telling as honestly as i can--i'm rolling up on trucks in the fast lane doing 75MPH. i'm not popping out from behind them--usually i'm rolling down this lane for miles at a time while i pbutt the procession of trucks in the RH lane. there was no one behind me that they'd have to wait on. i'm in a 30-foot RV that's 11 feet tall, more than 8 feet wide, and white in color.

my guess is that these trucks are accustomed to seeing the RVs puttering along at 55-65 MPH (most of em seem to) and when they see one rolling up, they think "oh boy better beat this guy or i'll have to wait for him to slowly pbutt me." so they cut me off because they're carelessly underestimating my speed.
