Look at it from our point of view. Many times a day when I signal a lane change to pbutt another vehicle that I'm catching, I have...

Brian Smith That implies they do it on purpose. Folks just don't know how big blind spots can be with cargo...

believe it or not, i *do* think about that, bill. it seems to me that you're justifying a trucker cutting off another large rig (my RV) "Because it will take that truck a lot more time and road to get back up to speed that it will the average cager. And because the time he loses may well be money he loses."

just so i understand you perfectly, are you saying it's OK for him to cut off another large rig because of this?

the reason i ask is because i find myself in this very situation many times, only i'm the one in the RH lane approaching a slow moving vehicle while another vehicle is approaching to pbutt in the LH lane. so it's OK for me to cut off vehicles approaching to pbutt when it becomes apparent that i will be forced to slow down if i don't immediately move around the vehicle in front of me (especially if we're climbing)?

remember, i'm also driving a big rig that has a hard time accellerating. now my modus operandi up until now has been that i *don't* cut off other drivers--even though i might be unhappy with having to slow down behind a slowpoke in the RH lane, that's *my* problem and i'm not going to create a problem or even a potential accident for another driver just because i may lose a minute of my time.

what do you say bill? is it OK to start cutting off truckers and other motorists like that, within your reasoning at least?
