Brian Smith That implies they do it on purpose. Folks just don't know how big blind spots can be with cargo-carrying vehicles. Please don't...

Look at it from our point of view. Many times a day when I signal a lane change to pbutt another vehicle that I'm catching, I have checked my mirrors to make sure that there is no other vehicle close to mine. As soon as the little lights on the back and side of the trailer start flashing, many four wheelers have the understanding that the lights mean it is safe for them to pbutt the "big bad truck", and they speed up to pull alongside of my truck. It's not so much a matter of the truck cutting off another driver, it's a matter of another driver not paying attention to what is going on around them.

Check your mirrors, then signal your intention to change lanes. Then check your mirrors again and then make your move (if you don't you'll find yourself watching people pbutt you as you're trying to change lanes.

When I see myself gaining on another vehicle, I watch the traffic behind me and make my move to the pbutting lane early enough that I am not boxed in behind the slow moving vehicle.

Not Bill's response but mine {;^)
