This is what I know from experience. Many shippers load when ever they are open. A meat packing house is taking raw materials in one end and shipping a finished product out the other and they are pretty much 24-7. But a receiver on the other hand is a different ball of wax. Most of them want to unload in the mornings to early afternoon. Then they load their trucks in the evenings-nights so they can make their next day deliveries. In between those they are stocking their shelves and then pulling the next days orders. If you look at the end users, the department stores, grocery stores, restaurants(I've delivered to more than a few that would get a whole 40,000 lbs of meat in one shot), home depots etc they often have signs saying no deliveries between the hours of x and y, and they aren't open 24 hours a day. Most of the hazemat I pulled was delivered to places that ran 7am to 7pm five days a week. Most dry goods I hauled went to places with receiving hours of 5am to 1pm. 6 days a week. I'd say maybe 20% of the places I delivered where 24-7 on receiving. Whitelightning
