Well since Dave Head was mentioning Interstates, let's put the interstates back to what they were built for (military, and cargo transportation) and get the 4 wheelers off the roads that long haul trucks use in the first place. Problem solved. You won't have to cry about the conditions of the road, because you won't be on them. Problem solved. TADA.
rude drivers nope. rude TRUCKERS... 1967Yeah, 'cuz they need a locomotive to move 'em around - a simple problem to solve with self-powered railcars. They also don't have tracks that can handle railcars individually. It'd be a simple...
According to Dave, there is NO need for scheduling... Dave said that Rails will be available whenever needed... no need to wait, no need for scheduling. This is his stupid theory, it doesn't work, and he's to stupid to see it.
When Dave came up with this stupid idea of Nuclear Powered Rail Cars, I didn't think that he was talking about having 18,000 Miles of third rail for pedestrians to step on or fail, Or 18,000 Miles of Over head power for the weather to knock down, or fail one way or another. This idea of having power plants supply the juice makes it even more dangerous, add to all of this that because of the power needed to haul freight greatly out weighs the power to haul people... it's not even feasible... There is a reason they don't have fully electric trains hauling freight... it's because it can't be done economically. So the Safe way to do this would be if they cars generated their own power, Maybe nuclear power would generate a fully electric Freight car... but then you have a whole list of new dangers and NIMBY to deal with.
rude drivers nope. rude TRUCKERS... 1966Dave Head A power plant has not been built in this country in over 20 years... how many power plants (nuclear power plants) are going to need to be built for this operation of...
And with this being a sound concept. Its not economical, Not practical, not safe in a manor that dave want it to be implemented, Doubles the number of vehicles need to transport the freight, and increases the man power needed to haul freight by at LEAST a factor of 3. Sound concept... Nope.
If the cost of products increases because of increased cost of freight. it's not beneficial to anyone.
