The really astounding thing is that you believe your argument is rational! All those railroad cars you see every day? Multiply those by about 100,000 percent if every trailer-load of freight must be delivered by train. And multiply by ten trillion the times each day you'd be stopped at a train crossing-- you'd better put in a big supply of groceries while the trucks are still running, because the trains don't obey traffic lights or traffic cops. Trains OWN the right of way over which they roll-- you would never get off the block you live on. Oh, and to whomever said that mail travels exclusively by air is sadly mistaken. Coast to coast, trucks carry the bulk of everyday mail. Why?-- Because single trucks deliver coast to coast "air freight" faster than trains can hook and unhook long trains; faster than planes can schedule, load from warehouses and circle endlessly at destination before unloading to a TRUCK for local delivery! This modern world cannot now or at anytime in the future succeed without trucks.
Get over it.
-- "As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." --- H.L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)
