Private money? There'a *already* private money going into railroads. Why would anyone want to invest in a Government RR system?

Yes, I have. It's Government run, in a high-ridership area. While it doesn't carry cars, or run one car at a time, it's very close to your desired system.

Well, yeah, it's part of that whole *scheduling* thing. You want individual cars, but that requires even more outlay for the power units, as well as fuel. This isn't how you get economy.

Advertising - there's lotsa money in that. The rail system would have the paying pbuttengers. The ad industry wants to sell 'em stuff. Make ad industy put up money for rights to advertise...

Right. I'd seriously like to see someone show how that would work on a large scale.

That's what using a Government system gets you. Which is, IIRC, what you seem to want.

And be very inefficient while doing it. This will lower costs, how? Try again; just not true. Many expresses.

After the expenses for the extra tracks and stations involved, plus the motored cars needed, plus rthe extra fuel, plus the government rake. Again, who pays for all this?

OK, one benefit. But just try figuring the costs on this.

*IF* you use an individual railcar. Not practical.

Fares? Gee, you should work for Amtrak. They could use someone who can just wave a wand and get people to pay higher fares. Seriously.
