The answer should be obvious to you: get out of the lane and allow the other, faster driver-- car or truck-- to pbutt you. If traffic is heavy and all lanes are moving at roughly the same speed, then the tailgater is an idiot. Do not, however, do something stupid to prove a point. Slamming on brakes, etc in front of a speeding, very heavy truck will get someone end-- maybe you are so angry you don't care if you're wrecked, so long as you can "get even." But the toddler in the next lane over? Seriously, you ever see the carnage resulting from a multi-vehicle crash? You don't want even a minor injury to a kid on your conscience, do you? Do you? Right-wrong ain't got nothing to do with it. The highway is not a playground. A 1-4 second mistake in judgment can result in a lifetime of regret.
