refer to the tomtom interviews that have been in the media recently.
grade one = motorway and , I think, grade 6 is unclbuttified. migh be the othe rway round. tomtom is supposed to direct the driver according to those grades according to user selection of Mway shortest route.
option 1: fastest route, option 2: avoid motorways (A roads, x mph slower than motorways according to the grading system) option 3: shortest route, etc. etc. right down to walking route.
show me a perfect system and I'll show you a flawed system. what's your point, caller ?
so you now accept that the roads *are* graded ? ok. thanks for that.
been there, done that. watch out for the signs, take heed of thsoe signs and tomtom will re route you. afaik, tomtom et al are trying to build height, weight and width restrictions into future versions. it's been flagged as a priority for a while.
use the option to 'travel via' and 'avoid', advanced planning, ininerary, etc. and aps, obv. and common sense ;-)
there's lots of things youcando tho. and for the average non algorithm writing driver it's a boon, a bonus and still, largely, in development. best not be too negative about it, eh ? don't want to come accross as a glbutt half empty sort of bloke, do we ?
hahahha, people likeme? however did I manage before algorithm writing boffins came along ? clue: I did, and everything I learned then I apply now with the added bonus of satnav which has removed 90% of the stress of driving hundreds of miles a week to and from unfamiliar places.
agreed. now, juuuust for the record, how many miles do you actually drive ?
