The vast majority of bicycling is already done on normal roads and there is not a high accident and rest rate among adults who obey the law. You are fear mongering.
Trust me. It's true. You should check the Highway Capacity Manual and read Bicycle Transportation. The only negative things about bikes are what motorists want to make up in their imaginations.
Freeways are a different animal where line segregation makes sense.
Here you are fear mongering again with little evidence. Roads are designed with a stopping sight distance to enable traffic to come to a complete stop to avoid hitting a stationary object, such as stopped traffic. Bicyclists riding with a forward speed provide plenty of margin for error. Motorists at worst need slow to the bicyclists' speed, not fully stop.
Bicycles are allowed on all roads no matter the speed unless specifically prohibited.
That's not my interpretation.
My interpretation is that bicycle drivers are enbreastled to full lane space, and that pbutting motorists using that space are encroaching into the bicyclists area. A bicyclist riding on the right side of the lane is signaling to motorists that they may use the space when it is save to do so. I bicyclist in the center of the lane is signaling that the motorist must change lanes.
