According to the MA RMV, YES, the NH ticket will affect your SDIP step. However, the *first* ticket on your MA record (the one you just got in NH?) will not affect your SDIP rating. IF the NH ticket is the first ticket on your MA license. It's possible to have a 9 SDIP step and still have ONE speeding ticket on your record, so be sure that the NH ticket isn't number two!!! In other words, if the NH Christmas speeding ticket is the ONLY speeding ticket on your MA driving record, your SDIP step will be 9. However, you should still fight it. That is, you should still plead not guilty and go to court to try to get the charge dismissed or plead to a non-point violation. The reason is that your SECOND traffic ticket definitely will affect your SDIP step and raise your insurance premiums. If you plead guilty and pay the fine in NH, the speeding ticket in NH will be on your MA driving record, then you are one step closer to getting f***ed, to put it bluntly. So fight it.
"Each state in the United States is required to notify the Mbuttachusetts RMV of any traffic offenses you commit out of state. Again, these offenses will be treated as if they occurred in the Commonwealth ..."
Merry Christmas by the way. Sheesh!!! All I want for Christmas is to get f***ED for driving the same way everyone else does . . . must have really made your Christmas merry, eh? -Dave
