today's cop rant PG county, MD

so today I had to drive home from Tyson's Corner during rush hour (a peeve in many ways... I hate malls, for one, and I knew that traffic would suck) anyway it was worse than I expected, I was already committed to taking the inner loop of the beltway when I heard on the radio that there was a truck fire about 10 miles ahead of me, and everything ground to a halt. To make a long story short, I took off "cross country" and eventually (literally hours later) ended up on MLK just outside the beltway.

I saw a PG county cop a) speeding (understandable) b) changing lanes without signaling (no excuse IMHO) c) ignoring a driver with their brights on after dark (no excuse there either, and one of my pet peeves) d) ignoring a driver with no lights on at all (I can understand this one, I barely saw the a-hole myself) e) IGNORING THE MOTORCYCLIST PULLING A WHEELSTAND RIGHT BEHIND HIM. (?????) I was puzzled by this until I pulled up next to him at a stop light, and added two more to the list - smoking one of those cheapbutt cigars in a plastic holder that seem to be fashionable among the ghetto set, and TALKING ON A HANDHELD CELL PHONE.

If anyone has any doubt in their mind why people have no respect for and make disparaging comments about law enforcement officers, I hope that this cleared things up.
