Sure, because I speak Kraut I was asked to book a bunch of bikers from work in for several circuits of the Ring and do their accommodation etc. One of the things that came up was insurance and the blerk I spoke to at the Ring said that the bikers normal insurance should cover it. This was in 1999, so it's possible that insurers have wised up to it or found some way to weasel out.

However the usual exclusion for "track use" didn't apply because technically the Ring isn't a track.

Surely there is no difference in quality between a BMW dealer and a BMW specialist who uses BMW quality or OE...

BTW, for a laugh a couple of years ago I did a track day at an MoD track in Surrey, in the Ford. I burnt out a set of pads - literally burnt out flames coming out through the wheels that needed a CO2 extinguisher to put them out and it also cost me a set of disks. I also discovered on the second lap that despite having put on race pads and disks, I had virtually no brakes at all.

Still the blokes that put me up to it peeed themselves laughing and I didn't bend or dent it unlike the twerp in an Evo who hit a concrete box. So a relatively good time was had by most. You won't be surprised to hear that the only vehicle posting slower lap times was a forward control landie.
