uninsured in california accidentcoverage question 2868

Ad absurdum per aspera

I already have. Message pending reply.

Potshots from the peanut gallery aren't helpful. I have insurance now, lest you buttume I'm a deadbeat. Doesn't sound like there's much chance of avoiding that, however. Good luck with that user manual you're asking for help on, BTW.

Unfortunately, the $250 only seems to apply if you don't supply insurance info at the scene of the accident. On the issue of not being covered, that page says the following:

Curious which do you consider worse
Last week, I was driving through my apt. complex trying to get to my reserved space. There's a guy with a...

"If you have an accident not covered by your insurance, your license will be suspended."

My insurance agent said that he thinks there is some wiggle room, however. He said something about the DMV sending a warning, or by just making me subject to SR-22 coverage instantly. I haven't been able to find any info on the process and options here, however. This here is the crux of my crisis.

Yeah, I've already received a call from AAA wanting my statement, so it's already in part of the system. I have no doubt that they were at fault, so the funny thing is that as far as insurance goes, I'll be covered. It's the DMV that I'm worried about.

I was uninsured. I don't have any claim to pain and suffering, etc. and this has been reified in the courts, so they have nothing to worry about here.

Good point. I'll do this just to stay on the good faith side of the equation.

Obviously.

Thanks for the reply, Eric
