You appear to be taking a one sided view of co-operation and understanding.

The drivers behaviour was illegal.

On Tue, 26 Sep 2006 14:01:01 +0000 (UTC), David Taylor I'm amazed that you need to ask that, yes it...

The drivers behaviour was unnecessary.

If they showed understanding, then it's a strange form of understanding and they showed no co-operation to other drivers and as such were, as I and the Highway Code says, inconsiderate.

Wrong. They were breaking the law. I suggest you read the Highway Code and-or the law, it might prevent you from acting in a similarly inconsiderate manner.

Road Traffic Act 1988 -

"3. If a person drives a motor vehicle on a road without due care and attention, or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road, he is guilty of an offence."

Highway Code -

"122: You MUST NOT

- drive dangerously - drive without due care and attention - drive without reasonable consideration for other road users.

Law RTA 1988 sects 2 & 3 as amended by RTA 1991"

Which doesn't explain why they allowed to ignore the law and drive inconsiderately.

An equally valid response is to sound your horn, as the op did -

"92: The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence."
