Which is easier to type? It's 12th. I rutinely call the named numbered streets by number as do others.
Obviously since we were talking about the development on the SOUTHWEST corner not the northwest corner.
It's shorter along 33rd street if you use the 33rd enterance to the 35th street stop. Shorter if you park on wentworth. (there is some legal parking there) About the same as your solution if you park over on shields. My beater car broke down on the ryan once. I got it up the exit ramp and parked it along lasalle? there by the 79th street L stop and took the L the rest of the way. Retrieved the car the next morning. That was a shorter walk than you described. And I had my tool bag weighting me down so I should know.
The meters and the L ride are about the same. However if the city of chicago wasn't consistantly restricting parking in an effort to increase transit use, you could drive the remaining 0.1% of the way without trouble. I never had a problem walking once I was that close. As I mentioned a family member lived by that stop and he walked to work in the loop much of the time.
