But if you have business in more than one place, it makes sense to park once and ride elsewhere, because parking occupancy is extremely high in the Loop and River North-Mag Mile. Metered spots (especially along the Mag Mile) are quite hard to come by and usually not close to the places most people want to go unless one gets EXTREMELY lucky. And that is a factor if time and weather are considerations. Driving around in aggrivation for 20 minutes to find a parking spot is not worth it when I can park and ride the train there and back in 20-25, and be guaranteed close to my destination, which cannot always happen with parking. Granted, that requires knowing schedules (unlike the CTA . . .) but it's also, as they say, "life in the big city".
That's not to say I won't walk. Nor that I don't wish it was easier to drive. But I don't mind the transit and if I find something that works for me, I do it. That's the key. I know the whole Bridgeport areas you mentioned very well, too, but it wouldn't have been convenient for me to drive there and park there on the days I parked on Plymouth Ct.
well, it finally happened... 3801Brent P) Get a real newsreader. That's a valid link to a message in this thread. Someone sure is. LOL!!! Wanna see what that looks like on my screen? May I suggest...
